Alexandra Bannister is a native from Florianopolis, Brazil where she grew up studying dance at Centro de Danca Rio and received her diploma in 1998. Alexandra has been training in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz and Tap for twenty-eight years and has been instructing and dancing professionally for seventeen years.
She has performed in many TV shows and shows in Brazil such as "Domingao do Faustao," "O Guarani," "Campanha do Livro" and "O Livro que caiu do Ceu." Alexandra moved to the Gulf Coast in 2003 after dancing in "Hot Rio Nights," a musical inspired by Brazilian history, at the Beau Rivage Casino. While living in America, she has performed in many productions including "Balagan," "Swan Lake," "Sounds of Holiday" and "Dom Quixote" with ABT's principal dancer Julie Kent. Alexandra has also choreographed and performed in "Merry Christmas...Baby!" and "Hypnaughty" at the Imperial Palace and Hard Rock Casino. She has performed in many events for all casinos along the Gulf Coast.
Alexandra loves teaching children through adults and hopes to pass her passion for Ballet along to her students. She mainly teaches Vaganova technique, however, she mixes other technical styles to make her Ballet class fun and interesting.
